Training of Kazak Speaking Media Trainers

The first Training for Kazakh speaking trainers took place in Almaty from 29 to 31 May 2015. UNESCO Almaty provided workshop materials and services of trainers from Minber Public Foundation. Training was organized by Internews Network and supported by USAID Central Asia.

The event was aimed to enhance the trainers methods necessary to increase a capacities of journalists.

UNESCO provided a range of materials for media trainers, developed jointly with Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) and the academic community.

The training program included theoretical knowledge and practical skills relying on the experience gained by the participants in own training courses.

As a result, participants have learned to apply basic methods and tools of professional journalism training in series of upcoming development workshops of Kazakh-speaking media.

UNESCO Almaty supported the training in the framework of the joint program "Improving the welfare and quality of life in the Kyzylorda region through innovative approaches to delivering economic, social and environmental services to the local population, including those most vulnerable," implemented by the Government and the UN agencies in the Republic of Kazakhstan: UNESCO, UNDP, UNFPA, UN Women, UNICEF and WHO. Project started in July 2014 till December 2016.

Training of Trainers was implemented in the framework of Internews Project: Access to Information under the auspices of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
