A two-day workshop for school administrators took place in Almaty, 28-29 April 2015. 19 deputy directors of schools from thirteen regions of Kazakhstan have increased their knowledge and understanding on the role of schools in healthy lifestyle promotion, reducing violence against children and adolescents in school, as well as discussed issues on reducing the stigmatization and discrimination towards people living with HIV.
The workshop was conducted by the Republican In-service Teacher Training Institute with financial and technical support of the UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office.I received a lot of new information at the training. I like the teaching methods when everyone can express their opinions and contribute to the learning process.

Videos help participants understand feelings and experiences of people with HIV and the need to train teachers, parents and students in order to improve knowledge on human rights and stop stigmatization and discrimination.
Discussions in small groups, case studies and role plays contributed to active involvement of all participants in the learning process and better understanding of their role in prevention education. All participants received modules and videos for trainings.
According to the participants’ feedback during the two days of the workshop, they changed their attitude and opinions about people with HIV, gender aspects of women's vulnerability and violence in schools.
