On 29-30 November 2004 twenty two representatives of national audiovisual archives, main broadcasting organizations and National MOW Committees of Central Asia participate in the a two-day training workshop.
Organized by UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office in collaboration with the Central State Archive of Audiovisual and Photo Documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the UNESCO activity ‘Support for digital migration of content in audiovisual libraries including PSB libraries’.

The workshop training agenda includes:
- Review of current situaiton in the field of preservation and access at archives and broadcasting organizations;
- Presentation of methods of preservation and migration of digital documents on the basis of the Memory of the World Guidelines on digital migration;
- Using of new ICTs, including electronic cataloging means and digital libraries, for facilitating access to audio data;
- Development of recommendations on starting the process of digital migration of traditional audiovisual materials
