Central Asian countries are actively developing the cultural and creative sectors of their economies. At the same time, the UNESCO Global Report on "Re|shaping policies for creativity: addressing culture as a global public good" underlines that: "while the creation of decent economic opportunities for artists and cultural professionals has been a growing concern, the pre-existing vulnerabilities amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic call for a better recognition of the specific needs of artists and cultural professionals (including social security and well-being)." One of those special needs is the development of a copyright culture.
The UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office resumes its series of online webinars on the development of cultural and creative industries in Central Asia. The next webinar will be held on Friday 17 June 2022 from 16:00 to 18:00 Almaty time on "Copyright as the Basis for Cultural and Creative Entrepreneurship".
The webinar will be presented by Temirlan Tulegenov, a well-known Kazakhstan copyright expert, PhD in law (Ph.D. specialisation in legal support of creative projects).
The webinar will be held online at Zoom in the Russian language.
